Position Sizing Explained
Understanding how your trade amounts are calculated.
The Three Modes
| Mode | How Size Is Calculated |
|---|---|
| Percentage | Your % × Trader's trade size |
| Fixed | Always the same $ amount |
| Range | Percentage with min/max limits |
Percentage Mode Examples
If you set 25%:
| Trader Buys | You Buy |
|---|---|
| $100 | $25 |
| $500 | $125 |
| $1,000 | $250 |
Fixed Mode Examples
If you set $50 fixed:
| Trader Buys | You Buy |
|---|---|
| $100 | $50 |
| $500 | $50 |
| $1,000 | $50 |
Range Mode Examples
If you set 25% with min $20, max $100:
| Trader Buys | Calculated | Actual |
|---|---|---|
| $50 | $12.50 | $20 (min) |
| $200 | $50 | $50 |
| $500 | $125 | $100 (max) |
Which Mode to Use?
| Situation | Best Mode |
|---|---|
| Match trader proportionally | Percentage |
| Fixed budget per trade | Fixed |
| Want proportional with limits | Range (recommended) |
Pro Tip
Range mode is safest - you get proportional sizing with protection from tiny trades (min) and overexposure (max).
