Counter Mode - Bet Against Traders
Think a trader is consistently wrong? Counter mode lets you automatically bet the opposite of what they bet.
How Counter Mode Works
| Trader Does | You Get (Counter) |
|---|---|
| Buys YES | You buy NO |
| Buys NO | You buy YES |
| Sells YES | You sell your NO position |
| Sells NO | You sell your YES position |
It's the exact opposite of normal copying.
How to Enable
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| Go to Dashboard → Click Edit on any trader | |
| In the Mode tab, find the Direction setting | |
| Switch from "Copy" to "Counter" | |
| Click Save |
Counter mode works with any allocation mode (Percentage, Range, or Fixed).
When to Use Counter Mode
| Scenario | Good Fit? |
|---|---|
| Trader has a low win rate (below 40%) | Great candidate |
| Trader is consistently wrong on a category | Good idea |
| Trader has a high win rate (above 60%) | Copy normally instead |
| You disagree with a popular trader's thesis | Worth trying |
Important Notes
- Counter mode still uses the same allocation mode and filters you set
- Your Max Per Market, Stop Loss, and Take Profit all still apply
- Sell mirroring is reversed too (their sells trigger your sells, just on the opposite side)
- Counter doesn't guarantee profit - even traders with low win rates can have profitable streaks
Example
Trader: "BTC_degen" (38% win rate on sports markets)
Your settings: Counter mode, Fixed $10
Trader buys YES on "Lakers win" at 60¢
→ You buy NO at 40¢
Lakers lose → NO pays $1
→ You profit 60¢ per share!
Pro Tips
- Check recent performance - A trader's overall stats may be good, but they might be wrong in specific categories
- Start small - Test counter mode with a small fixed amount first
- Use filters - Combine with Min Odds and Max Odds to only counter specific types of bets
- Don't counter everyone - It's a niche strategy, not a default
